Caring for Your Leather

Our handbags are meticulously handcrafted from premium, buttery-soft leathers designed to age beautifully and develop a unique patina over time. To ensure your piece maintains its architectural silhouette and luxurious feel for years to come, we recommend the following care practices.

Everyday Protection

  • Maintain the Silhouette: Avoid overfilling your bag, as this can permanently stretch the leather and distort its carefully crafted shape.

  • Mind the Elements: Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, intense heat, or high humidity can cause the leather to fade or dry out.

  • Color Transfer: Take care when wearing light-colored bags against dark denim or deeply dyed fabrics. Color transfer can occur naturally and is often difficult to reverse.

Cleaning & Conditioning

  • Routine Cleaning: Gently wipe your bag with a soft, dry, light-colored cloth to remove daily dust and dirt.
  • Conditioning: To keep the leather supple, apply a high-quality, alcohol-free leather conditioner every three to six months. Always test the conditioner on an inconspicuous area, such as the base of the bag, before applying it all over.
  • Spills and Spots: If water spills on your bag, do not rub it. Gently blot the area with a dry, absorbent cloth and allow it to dry naturally at room temperature. Never use a hairdryer or artificial heat source.

Proper Storage

  • Rest Your Bag: When not in rotation, always store your handbag inside its original dust bag. Avoid storing it in plastic bags, as leather needs to breathe.
  • Keep Its Form: Stuff the interior with acid-free tissue paper to help it retain its structure while resting. Avoid using newspaper, as the ink can transfer to the interior lining.
  • Store Upright: Keep the bag in a cool, dry place, resting on its base rather than hanging by its straps, which can stretch the handles over time.
